Lake McAllister

When I moved to Las Vegas, NM, in 2007, it was a lonely time; I didn't know a soul, and I spent a lot of time walking my dogs at Lake McAllister.  I became fascinated with this dying lake.  Once a popular fishing spot, fish skeletons littered the perimeter of the water-less shoreline.  Through the years and seasons I return to this lake...to seek out the ever-present Hermit's Peak, to photograph my frolicking dogs and to document things I find.  Marbles, homemade anchors, children's toys, food containers, beer bottles, Wal-Mart sacks, and other remains of human ephemera are just waiting to be excavated.  Here is a sample of hundreds of photographs I've taken.
